Inchcape Shipping Services, a global provider of port agency and maritime services, announced the opening of its newest office at the strategically important Port of Arica in Chile.

This expansion marks a major milestone for Inchcape, situating the company at South America’s northernmost port near the Peru border, and providing access to a vast hinterland that includes regions of Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.

Arica Port is renowned for its ability to handle a diverse range of cargo, such as minerals, fertilizers, consumer goods, gasoline, oil, and project cargo.

Additionally, it serves as a popular stop for cruise ships, thanks to its proximity to breathtaking natural attractions like the Azapa Valley, Lauca National Park, and Chungara Lake, nestled high in the Andes Mountains. This makes Arica a key maritime hub and a prominent destination for both the shipping and cruise industries.

Beginning 1 September 2024, Inchcape’s new Arica office will offer its full suite of services, supporting the tanker, dry bulk, liner, cruise, and ship management sectors.

The office will cover operations at Arica Port (TPA) for containers, cruise ships, and general cargo vessels, as well as the COMAP (COPEC) and SICA-SICA (YPFB) buoy terminals for tanker operations.
