Adani Defence & Aerospace has received the SIDM Champion Award in recognition of its performance in defence exports, highlighting the company’s contribution to India’s growing defence manufacturing and export sector.

The recognition reflects the increasing role of Indian private-sector companies in supplying defence equipment and technologies to international markets. Adani Defence & Aerospace has been expanding its capabilities across defence manufacturing, aerospace systems and related technologies as India seeks to strengthen domestic production and boost overseas sales.

India has been promoting defence exports through policy reforms, indigenous manufacturing initiatives and greater private-sector participation. The government’s efforts aim to position the country as a competitive supplier of defence products while reducing dependence on imports.

The company’s Kanpur facility has an annual production capacity of 300 million rounds of small-calibre ammunition and produces ammunition that meets NATO standards.

India’s defence exports reached a record ₹38,424 crore in FY2025–26, an increase of 62.66% over the previous financial year. The government has set a target of ₹50,000 crore in annual defence exports by 2029.
