Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), the Indian shipping arm of ecommerce giant Amazon, saw its operating revenue rising 7.6% to Rs 4,889 crore in the year ended March 31, 2024, from Rs 4,543 crore in FY23. This includes revenue generated from logistics through its shipping operations.

Its net loss narrowed marginally by 6.9% to Rs 80 crore in FY24, from Rs 86 crore the previous year, according to regulatory filings sourced from business intelligence platform Tofler.

The company’s total income stood at Rs 4,946 crore. Total expenses increased by 7%, coming in at Rs 5,004 crore, compared to Rs 4,659 crore in FY23. A significant amount of the expenditure was attributed to employee benefit expenses of Rs 624 crore, and other expenses at Rs 3,975 crore.

In FY23, it reported a marginal fall in operating revenue to Rs 4,543 crore from Rs 4,571 crore in FY22. Its net loss had narrowed marginally to Rs 86 crore in FY23 from Rs 95 crore in FY22.

The ecommerce giant operates several divisions in India, including Amazon Wholesale, Amazon Seller, Amazon Pay and Amazon Retail.

It was reported earlier that ATS was opening up its logistics infrastructure to deliver non-Amazon orders as well, positioning itself as a direct rival to new-age logistics companies such as Xpressbees, Delhivery, and Ecom Express.

ATS received a total capital infusion of Rs 775 crore from its parent company in two tranches — Rs 400 crore in January last year, and Rs 375 crore in June 2022. In FY22, the company received an infusion of Rs 365 crore. However, in FY24, it did not receive any additional investment from its parent company.
