Bihar is positioning itself as a key logistics hub with the launch of its Bihar Logistics Policy 2023, spearheaded by the state’s Department of Industries. The policy offers a range of financial incentives to encourage investment in transport, warehousing, and trade infrastructure.
Under the scheme, investors can avail a capital investment grant of 20% of project costs, capped at ₹25 crore. Additional grants include up to ₹10 crore for an inland container depot , ₹6 crore for warehouses, ₹4 crore for cold van services, and ₹3 crore for container freight stations.
The policy also provides interest reimbursement of up to 10% annually, with a ceiling of ₹30 crore. Investors will continue to receive benefits under the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy, 2016, alongside support for developing multi-modal logistics parks.
Special incentives are available for SC, ST, EBC, EWS, women, disabled persons, war widows, acid attack survivors, and third gender entrepreneurs, including interest reimbursement up to 11.5% and an additional 15% in capital and interest grants.
State officials say the policy is designed to attract large-scale investments, generate employment, and upgrade Bihar’s logistics infrastructure to support faster economic growth .
