Blue Energy Motors (BEM), which describes itself as India’s No. 1 green truck brand, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, under the PARIVARTAN Scheme to promote the replacement of ageing commercial vehicles with cleaner alternatives across the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR).

The initiative is aimed at reducing transport-related emissions and improving air quality by encouraging the replacement of older, high-emission trucks and buses with cleaner vehicles. It also represents a step towards accelerating India’s transition to sustainable freight transportation.

Through its participation in the scheme, Blue Energy Motors intends to support the wider adoption of electric heavy-duty trucks for freight and logistics operations, enabling fleet operators to transition towards zero-emission vehicle technology.

Commenting on the development, Anirudh Bhuwalka, Founder and Managing Director of Blue Energy Motors, said the PARIVARTAN Scheme would play an important role in accelerating cleaner freight mobility in India. He highlighted the importance of policy support, advanced technology and a strong domestic manufacturing ecosystem in advancing the country’s transition towards zero-emission freight transportation.

Blue Energy Motors is expanding its presence in green freight mobility through its electric and liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered heavy-duty truck solutions. According to the company, more than 1,400 of its green heavy-duty trucks are operating across key freight routes in India. These vehicles have collectively covered over 150 million green kilometres, helping avoid more than 44,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions — equivalent to the carbon absorption of approximately 1.8 million trees, as estimated by the company.

The PARIVARTAN initiative brings together government policy support and industry participation to encourage the adoption of cleaner commercial vehicles. Blue Energy Motors aims to contribute to this transition through its electric heavy-duty truck technology and continued focus on sustainable freight mobility.
