Brookfield is set to expand its presence in India’s logistics and industrial real estate sector through a deal to acquire ESR India’s industrial and logistics portfolio.

The transaction will give Brookfield access to a portfolio of logistics and industrial assets across key Indian markets, strengthening its position in a segment that has benefited from the growth of e-commerce, manufacturing and organised supply chains.

The acquisition is expected to add strategically located warehouses and industrial facilities to Brookfield’s existing real estate platform in India. Such assets are increasingly important as companies seek modern distribution centres closer to major consumption and manufacturing hubs.

India’s logistics real estate market has attracted significant institutional investment in recent years, supported by rising demand for warehousing, third-party logistics, e-commerce fulfilment and manufacturing facilities.

For Brookfield, the ESR portfolio deal provides an opportunity to scale its logistics footprint and participate in the long-term growth of India’s industrial and supply-chain infrastructure.

The transaction also reflects growing investor interest in professionally managed logistics parks and large-scale warehousing facilities as India’s economy becomes more integrated with global supply chains.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Brookfield’s ability to serve logistics and industrial occupiers across major markets while expanding its portfolio of income-generating real estate assets in India.
