Chowgule and Company has marked another key milestone in its shipbuilding journey with the successful launch of MV Hansa Anholt, the second vessel in its ongoing series of 8,500 DWT ships, at its Mangaluru shipyard.

The vessel has been constructed for German shipping company Leonhardt & Blumberg, reinforcing the longstanding partnership between the two firms and highlighting Chowgule’s growing presence in the global shipbuilding market.

The launch underscores the increasing momentum at the Mangaluru facility, where multiple vessels in the series are currently under construction. Company officials noted that each newbuild reflects a seamless transition from design to execution, combining engineering precision, modern technology, and high safety standards.

A notable feature of the launch was the continued use of the drop launch method—a relatively rare technique in India but a signature capability of Chowgule’s shipyards in both Goa and Mangaluru. The successful deployment of this method demonstrates the yard’s technical expertise, meticulous planning, and operational confidence.

The latest milestone also reinforces the yard’s focus on delivering globally competitive vessels while maintaining strong commitments to quality and sustainability.

With two vessels now launched and several more in progress, Chowgule’s shipbuilding division is steadily advancing its production pipeline, signaling robust growth and strengthening its position in the international shipbuilding sector.
