Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICCT India to advance research and develop actionable strategies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and air pollution from port and shipping operations in Kandla, Gujarat.

The collaboration will focus on identifying scalable and practical solutions across key areas, including vessel emissions, adoption of cleaner fuels, optimization of port logistics, and the use of low-emission in-port equipment. The initiative is expected to support data-driven policymaking and implementation of sustainable practices within the maritime sector.

Through this partnership, DPA and ICCT India aim to strengthen efforts toward decarbonizing port operations and contribute to India’s broader transition to a low-carbon and environmentally sustainable maritime ecosystem.
