Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Roorkee to jointly develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven Decision Support System aimed at enhancing smart dry logistics parks (DLPs), inventory management and network optimization across its operations.
The collaboration will leverage advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Geospatial Analytics and Operations Research, to improve train planning, trailer utilization, container inventory management and multimodal logistics throughout CONCOR’s nationwide network.
The proposed decision support system is expected to enable data-driven planning and operational efficiency by optimizing asset utilization, improving logistics network performance and supporting more effective resource allocation.
According to CONCOR, the initiative underscores its commitment to innovation, digital transformation and sustainable logistics. By integrating advanced analytics into its operations, the company aims to reduce operational costs, improve service efficiency and lower carbon emissions through smarter planning and optimized logistics processes.
The partnership with IIT Roorkee marks another step in CONCOR’s digital transformation strategy, with both organizations working together to develop next-generation intelligent logistics solutions that support the evolving needs of India’s freight and multimodal transport sector.
