Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has achieved a new operational milestone at its Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP), Dadri, loading seven double-stack container trains in a single day on September 15, 2026—the highest-ever number of double-stack trains loaded at the terminal in a single day.
The record highlights the growing capacity of MMLP Dadri to handle high-volume containerised cargo and efficiently connect freight flows with the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network. The deployment of double-stack trains enables a larger volume of containers to be moved in a single train movement, supporting faster and more efficient cargo evacuation.
The achievement also underlines the role of rail-based logistics in improving supply-chain efficiency while supporting the shift towards lower-carbon freight transportation. By facilitating greater cargo movement through rail, double-stack operations can help reduce dependence on road transportation and contribute to a lower carbon footprint.
CONCOR said the milestone reflects its capabilities in efficient terminal operations, optimised rail planning and high-capacity freight movement over the DFC. The coordinated handling of multiple double-stack trains in a single day demonstrates the terminal’s ability to manage large-scale rail operations while maintaining cargo-flow efficiency.
MMLP Dadri is strategically positioned as an important logistics gateway for the National Capital Region and surrounding industrial and consumption centres. Its integration with the DFC network enables containerised cargo to move more efficiently between ports and inland markets, supporting multimodal connectivity and reducing transit constraints associated with conventional freight routes.
The use of double-stack container trains is particularly significant for long-haul freight movement, as two layers of containers can be carried in a single train formation where infrastructure permits. This increases the carrying capacity of each train movement and can improve the overall economics and resource efficiency of rail freight.
The seven-train loading record at MMLP Dadri therefore represents not only a terminal-level operational achievement but also demonstrates the potential of DFC-linked logistics infrastructure to support higher freight volumes and more efficient supply chains.
