Global satellite operator Eutelsat, maritime connectivity specialist Marlink, and container shipping major CMA CGM have entered into a tripartite partnership to deploy next-generation satellite connectivity across CMA CGM’s global fleet, setting a new benchmark for digital performance at sea.

Under the collaboration, Eutelsat provides the satellite infrastructure, Marlink integrates and delivers the solution as a maritime-grade service, and CMA CGM deploys it at industrial scale across more than 300 vessels over the next nine months.

The rollout will enable continuous and resilient connectivity, supporting smarter vessel operations, enhanced ship–shore coordination, and an improved onboard digital experience for crew. The solution is designed to meet the growing demand for reliable, high-performance communications as shipping lines accelerate digitalisation and automation initiatives.

By combining satellite capacity, maritime service expertise and large-scale fleet deployment, the partnership aims to ensure consistent connectivity across global trade routes, including remote and high-traffic maritime corridors.

Industry observers see the initiative as a significant step in the evolution of maritime digital infrastructure, reinforcing connectivity as a core operational asset rather than a supporting service. The collaboration is expected to support data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency, safety enhancements and crew welfare across CMA CGM’s fleet.

The deployment marks a new standard for maritime performance, extending digital continuity from ship to shore and underscoring the role of advanced satellite communications in the future of global shipping.
