Gateway Terminals India (APM Terminals Mumbai) has introduced a state-of-the-art Truck Appointment System (TAS) aimed at transforming terminal operations and improving logistics efficiency at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA).
The system was inaugurated by Shri Vimal Kumar Srivastava, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai Zone-II, in the presence of Shri Arunjay Kumar Singh, CEO, GTI.
Designed to streamline truck movements, the new TAS uses a smart time-slotting mechanism to regulate truck arrivals, ease peak-hour congestion, and optimize terminal traffic flow. This technology-driven initiative is expected to significantly reduce truck turnaround times, enhance coordination among stakeholders, and ensure smoother, more predictable cargo pick-ups and deliveries.
Reaffirming GTI’s commitment to smart, sustainable, and efficient port operations, the TAS marks a major step toward modernizing India’s maritime logistics ecosystem through digital transformation.
