Gemini Cooperation is restoring three liner services to the Suez Canal route, with vessels on the services scheduled to call at Algeciras as part of the revised network.

The move marks an adjustment to Gemini’s network strategy as container shipping lines reassess routing options and seek to improve transit times and network efficiency.

    Algeciras Included in Revised Services

Algeciras will serve as a key call on the returning services, providing access to the Mediterranean and supporting connections between major global trade lanes.

The reinstatement of Suez Canal routings could shorten voyage times compared with longer diversions around the Cape of Good Hope, depending on prevailing security and operational conditions.

    Network Adjustments Continue

Gemini’s decision comes as carriers continue to review their Asia–Europe networks amid changing conditions in the Red Sea and Suez Canal region.

A broader return to the Suez route would have implications for transit times, vessel utilisation, schedule reliability and available capacity on services connecting Asia with Europe and the Mediterranean.
