German machinery exports to India are expected to grow by 10–15% in 2026, supported by strong demand from India’s manufacturing, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors, according to an industry body.

The projected growth reflects rising investments in industrial automation, capital goods and advanced manufacturing technologies as Indian companies expand capacity and upgrade production lines. Sectors such as automotive, engineering, food processing and chemicals are expected to remain key drivers of demand for German equipment.

Industry representatives said policy stability, improving ease of doing business and government-led initiatives to boost domestic manufacturing are encouraging higher imports of high-end machinery from Germany. Growing collaboration between Indian and German firms through technology partnerships and local assembly is also supporting trade flows.

Despite global economic uncertainties, India continues to be viewed as one of the most promising growth markets for German machinery exporters, with sustained demand anticipated over the medium term.
