In a significant step toward accelerating digital transformation in global logistics, IKEA Supply has joined DCSA+, the Digital Container Shipping Association’s industry-wide partnership programme dedicated to standardising and enhancing data exchange across the container shipping ecosystem. IKEA Supply is the first cargo owner to join the initiative, bringing critical shipper insights to a consortium that already includes carriers, forwarders, terminals, feeders and technology providers.
IKEA Supply oversees the global movement of IKEA products from suppliers to franchisees, making it a key stakeholder in supply chain efficiency and transparency. Its participation is expected to strengthen efforts to create interoperable digital standards aimed at improving predictability, sustainability and customer experience across the supply chain.

DCSA+ brings together industry stakeholders to align digital practices, accelerate adoption of open-source standards and ensure smoother data flow across container transport operations.
Adding further momentum, Lloyd’s Register (LR), the UK-based classification society, has also joined DCSA+. LR will initially contribute to the development of the Operational Vessel Schedules (OVS) standard, an initiative aimed at improving visibility and synchronisation across the vessel scheduling value chain.
