J M Baxi Group, a leader in the logistics and port infrastructure sector, is pleased to announce the appointment of Capt. Alpesh Abhay Sharma as Chief Operating Officer – Container Business, effective June 10th, 2024.
Capt. Sharma brings over 33 years of extensive experience in the industry and will
play a pivotal role in driving the next phase of growth for the company.

A Strategic Addition
Capt. Sharma joins J M Baxi Group after nearly 13 years with DP World, where he held
multiple key roles across India and Southeast Asia. His portfolio includes notable positions such as
● CEO for NSICT, CEO for LCIT Terminals in Thailand, CEO for Thailand, and VP Commercial (Ports and Terminals) for South East Asia.
● Additionally, he has served on various boards in DP World Subcon and DP World APAC.
● Prior to his tenure at DP World, Capt. Sharma held leadership positions at Maersk Line (India) and OOCL (India) as Country Head for Operations.
Leadership and Vision
In his new role, Capt. Sharma will report directly to Group Managing Director Dhruv Kotak and will work closely with the team to enhance operations and drive revenue growth. He will assume overall responsibility for J M Baxi Ports & Logistics container business, overseeing the National Sales Head and the container terminals of the business, including ICD, CFS, and Rail. His profound understanding of container terminal operations and the commercial landscape will be instrumental in steering strategic initiatives and maintaining the company’s position at the forefront of industry innovation.
