Kuehne+Nagel has renewed its agreement with Airbus to provide logistics services for production and storage sites across Spain and will expand operations for the first time to cover helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities.

The renewed contract involves in-plant logistics, inter-site transport, warehouse-to-line deliveries, supply fulfilment, and spare parts management and will employ over 900 Kuehne+Nagel staff across 16 sites in Albacete, Cádiz, Madrid, Sevilla, Toledo, and Zaragoza.

As part of the expanded partnership, Kuehne+Nagel has introduced new technologies such as a proprietary warehouse management system, robotics, RFID-based small-part control, and IoT applications to improve efficiency and traceability. The company also has initiatives to reduce cardboard and plastic usage throughout the supply chain.

“We are honoured to continue supporting Airbus with tailored logistics solutions that integrate digital innovation, operational efficiency, and a commitment to sustainability,” said Álvaro Nebreda, National Contract Logistics Manager, Spain. “This collaboration underscores our dedication to the aerospace sector and highlights our adaptability to meet the evolving demands of our customers.”

The company employs more than 82,000 people at nearly 1,300 sites in close to 100 countries and is headquartered in Switzerland. It serves 400,000 customers worldwide with supply chain solutions across air, sea, road, and contract logistics.
