Maersk has announced revised intermodal fuel fees for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, effective 1 September 2026, as higher global energy costs continue to put pressure on inland transportation operations.
In the UK, the intermodal fuel fee for truck movements will increase to 8.3%, up from the previous August level of 3.8%. The fee is reviewed monthly, and higher rates may apply to customers with bespoke pricing arrangements.
In the Republic of Ireland, Maersk will apply a 5.1% fuel fee for truck transportation from September 1. Bespoke customer rates may also be higher depending on individual agreements.
Maersk said the temporary fuel adjustments are intended to reflect the impact of volatile energy prices and ensure continuity of landside and intermodal services. The company will continue to review the fees as market conditions evolve.
