Swiss shipping company MSC has added two new shipping services that include King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and Jubail Commercial Port, the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) said recently.

One of the new cargo services will have a capacity of 14,000 TEUs and will connect King Abdulaziz Port and Jubail Commercial Port with 16 regional and international ports including those in Bahrain (one port), Qatar (one), India (one), Sri Lanka (one), Singapore (one), Vietnam (two), China (five), South Korea (one), Canada (one), and the United States (one).

The second cargo service will meanwhile connect the two Saudi ports with 12 regional and international destinations covering ports in the UAE (two), Qatar (one), India (three), Portugal (one), Spain (three), and Italy (two). It will also have a nominal handling capacity of 14,000 TEUs.

Mawani said these moves come as part of its efforts to enhance the competitiveness and efficiency of operations at King Abdulaziz and Jubail in a way that would support the movement of national exports.
