DP World has welcomed the first call of ME11/IMX service at its Mundra terminal under the landmark Gemini Cooperation – a strategic alliance between Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk aimed at enhancing global trade connectivity through a fast, flexible, and reliable ocean freight network.

The ME11/IMX service strengthens trade links between the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Europe, offering weekly direct connections from Mundra to key ports including Port Said, Valencia, Tangier Med, Salalah, Jebel Ali and Nhava Sheva. The service will operate with 12 vessels, with an average capacity 16,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).

In addition to the ME11/MX, DP World Mundra is also home to the new Shaheen/UGS service, another key offering under the Gemini Cooperation, providing direct weekly connections to Upper Gulf.

A Strategic Milestone for Indian Trade
Speaking on the occasion, Ravinder Johal, Chief Operating Officer, Ports & Terminals, Operations & Commercial, Middle East, North Africa & Subcontinent, DP World, said, “The arrival of the first call under Gemini Cooperation at DP World Mundra is a significant milestone in strengthening India’s trade ecosystem. This collaboration enhances supply chain efficiency, providing our customers with unparalleled access to international markets. With both existing and new Gemini services from Mundra, we are well-positioned to facilitate faster and more reliable trade flows. We look forward to playing a key role in the success of this transformative network worldwide.”

DP World Mundra boasts a 632-meter quay and deep draft capable of accommodating large vessels. It features a 50-acre Container Freight Station, supported by dedicated rail connectivity within the terminal, ensuring seamless cargo movement. With round-the-clock operations, DP World Mundra maintains the highest standards of security and efficiency in handling global trade flows.

The addition of Gemini Cooperation services reinforces DP World Mundra’s position as a critical gateway for Indian exporters and importers, ensuring faster and more reliable access to international markets.
