Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) has strengthened its terminal operations with the arrival of eight new electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (eRTGs), enhancing its capacity to support growing cargo volumes and customer demand, including services under the Gemini Cooperation network.

The latest delivery marks the final batch of 58 eRTG cranes supplied by ZPMC, completing a major equipment expansion programme aimed at improving terminal efficiency and operational performance.

The new cranes form part of PTP’s KILAT programme, a strategic initiative focused on upgrading terminal infrastructure through advanced automation, digitalisation and sustainable technologies. The programme is designed to enhance productivity while supporting the port’s long-term growth strategy.

As a key addition to PTP’s terminal infrastructure, the electric RTG fleet will further improve cargo handling capabilities, strengthen operational efficiency, and reinforce the port’s commitment to safe, reliable and environmentally responsible operations.
