Sallaum Lines has marked a significant milestone in its fleet expansion programme with the simultaneous delivery of MV Ocean Express and MV Ocean Navigator, two new Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) that join the company’s growing Ocean Class fleet.

The dual delivery ceremony, attended by the company’s founder, chairman and senior executives, represents the largest single-day addition to the Ocean Class Programme and reflects Sallaum Lines’ ongoing investment in modern, flexible and environmentally sustainable shipping assets.

Constructed by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) Co. Ltd. and registered under the Cyprus flag, the two vessels each offer a cargo capacity of 7,400 CEU across 13 cargo decks. Designed to handle a wide variety of cargoes, the vessels can accommodate passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, high-clearance SUVs, rolling machinery and oversized project cargo, with maximum cargo clearances of 5.4 metres in height and 13.5 metres in width.

Both vessels are equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion systems and LNG fuel storage facilities, enabling extended operational range while supporting lower emissions. The ships incorporate energy-efficient technologies that exceed current IMO regulatory requirements, delivering substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants.

Commenting on the delivery, Ibrahim Sallaum, Founder of Sallaum Lines, said the addition of two vessels on the same day reflects the company’s long-term vision and commitment to future growth.

The newbuildings are expected to strengthen Sallaum Lines’ ability to meet growing customer demand across its global Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) network. In recent years, demand for the company’s services has frequently exceeded available capacity, making fleet expansion a strategic priority to enhance service reliability and operational flexibility.

The deliveries also reinforce the importance of China as both a key export market and a long-term shipbuilding partner for the company. During 2026, Sallaum Lines supported Chinese exports through eight sailings from the Far East to Europe, reflecting increasing demand for reliable RoRo services on the corridor.

According to Sami Sallaum, the company is planning to launch a dedicated China–Europe service in 2027, supported by the additional capacity and efficiency offered by the new vessels.

With the addition of MV Ocean Express and MV Ocean Navigator, the Ocean Class fleet now comprises five vessels, including MV Ocean Breeze, MV Ocean Explorer and MV Ocean Legacy. The fleet is designed to deliver enhanced operational efficiency through optimized hull designs, advanced automation systems and flexible cargo configurations.

The two new PCTCs will enter commercial service immediately and support Sallaum Lines’ expanding global RoRo operations, serving customers in the automotive, commercial vehicle, heavy equipment and project cargo sectors across major international trade routes.
