Tata Electronics recorded exports of ₹99,128 crore in FY26, marking an increase of over 29% from the previous year and highlighting India’s growing importance in Apple’s global manufacturing and supply chain network.
According to The Economic Times, the export figures were reported collectively by three Tata Electronics entities: Tata Electronics, Tata Electronics System Solutions and Tata Electronics Products and Solutions. Their combined exports stood at ₹76,953 crore in FY25, although the comparison is not strictly like-for-like because one entity reported a 15-month financial period in the previous year.
The United States, Taiwan and Ireland were the major export destinations. Exports to Taiwan amounted to ₹47,930 crore, followed by the US at ₹38,508 crore and Ireland at ₹11,980 crore. Together, exports accounted for approximately 76% of the entities’ reported production revenue.
The performance underscores the Tata Group’s expanding role in Apple’s efforts to diversify manufacturing beyond China and strengthen its Indian supply chain. The growth in exports to the US also points to India’s increasing importance as a manufacturing base serving the American market.
However, the strong export performance came alongside rising financial pressure. Tata Electronics reported a consolidated net loss of ₹1,611 crore in FY26, compared with ₹69 crore in FY25, even as consolidated operating revenue nearly doubled to ₹1,29,902 crore.
The filings also indicate substantial reliance on imported components and other foreign-exchange payments. The combined foreign-exchange outgo of the three entities reached ₹1,29,641 crore during FY26, exceeding their export earnings.
The results highlight both the opportunities and challenges facing India’s electronics manufacturing sector as global companies expand production in the country. While rising exports strengthen India’s position in global supply chains, deeper domestic component manufacturing and value addition will be important for improving the sector’s long-term competitiveness.
