Texmaco Rail & Engineering has secured a new order from South Western Railway, marking another significant contract win for the company in the rail infrastructure sector.
Under the contract, Texmaco Rail & Engineering will supply key rolling stock components and related engineering solutions to support South Western Railway’s operational and capacity enhancement plans. The order is aligned with India’s broader push to modernise its rail network and boost freight and passenger services by deploying advanced and locally manufactured equipment.
Company officials said the new order reinforces Texmaco’s strong track record in the rail segment, where it has delivered a range of products including wheelsets, bogies, fabricated components and other critical assemblies for Indian Railways and private sector clients. The firm’s focus on quality, compliance with technical standards and timely delivery were cited as key factors in securing the contract.
Representatives from South Western Railway noted that the procurement will aid in fleet augmentation and maintenance efforts, contributing to improved reliability and operational efficiency across its network, which serves key states in southern India.
Industry analysts said the order reflects continued momentum in the rail manufacturing ecosystem, supported by government initiatives such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and emphasis on indigenous sourcing.
Texmaco Rail & Engineering is expected to begin deliveries in the coming months, with the project schedule and execution plan to be finalised in coordination with South Western Railway authorities.
