In a move to promote environmental stewardship ahead of International Maritime Week, VOC Port recently witnessed a commendable beach cleaning programme at its beachfront. The initiative was organised jointly by the Lions Club of SPIC Nagar and the Leo Club of SPIC Nagar, in association with VOC Port.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairman of VOC Port, who emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among stakeholders to foster sustainable practices. “It is only through collective action that we can ensure a cleaner, greener future for generations to come,” he stated.

Senior officials from VOC Port and SPIC, members of the Indian Coast Guard, as well as school and college students, actively participated in the drive. The programme focused on raising awareness about the critical importance of keeping beaches clean and protecting marine ecosystems from plastic pollution.

The beach cleanup initiative reflects VOC Port’s commitment to environmental conservation and community engagement, aligning with global efforts to promote sustainable maritime practices.
