V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA) organised a Trade Meet in Bengaluru on July 17, 2026, to strengthen engagement with the Bengaluru trade community and promote the port’s logistics capabilities among key industry stakeholders.
The event brought together representatives from major shipping lines, container terminal operators, CONCOR, Customs, importers, exporters, and trade associations, providing a platform to explore opportunities for enhancing cargo movement and strengthening trade partnerships.
The Trade Meet was led by Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson, VOCPA, along with Shri Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Deputy Chairperson, VOCPA. The programme was attended by Shri Vijuvin, IRTS, Cluster Head – Chennai, CONCOR, Shri Kathirvel, IRS, Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Tuticorin, and senior representatives from the shipping, logistics, and trade sectors.
During the event, the Deputy Chairperson presented an overview of V.O. Chidambaranar Port’s recent achievements, infrastructure developments, multimodal connectivity, and its strategic advantages as a gateway port for South India.
The programme also featured presentations by DBGT, TICT, TSAA, KPMG, CONCOR, and CHA Bengaluru, showcasing terminal capabilities, integrated logistics solutions, and opportunities for greater collaboration with the trade community.
An interactive session with industry stakeholders enabled participants to discuss operational challenges, cargo growth opportunities, and measures to improve supply chain efficiency. The event concluded with the felicitation of trade partners by the Chairperson.
The Trade Meet reaffirmed V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority’s commitment to strengthening industry partnerships, expanding its outreach in the Bengaluru market, and facilitating efficient, seamless, and sustainable cargo movement through the port.
