Nippon Express, a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, has introduced a new cross-border e-commerce logistics service for overseas products bound for Japan, leveraging its DCX (Digital Commerce Transformation) logistics web app. The service is designed to help international e-commerce businesses deliver products to Japanese consumers more efficiently and cost-effectively, according to an official release from Nippon Express.

Purchases by Japanese consumers on overseas e-commerce sites have continued to expand in recent years, with annual transactions for goods from the United States alone reaching approximately 380 billion yen. At the same time, high transport costs and complicated customs procedures have presented significant obstacles for both sellers and buyers.

To tackle these challenges, Nippon Express has introduced a direct delivery service to Japan that offers significantly lower costs than conventional cross-border e-commerce logistics while reducing complexity. The service utilises Nippon Express’s cloud-based DCX logistics
web app and the NX Group’s extensive global network.

Overseas sellers using this service can easily import order data from their e-commerce websites into DCX and issue shipping labels for domestic delivery in Japan via the Web. By simply sending packaged products to overseas warehouses designated by the NX Group, all the complex import/export and customs clearance procedures as well as domestic delivery arrangements in Japan will be handled seamlessly within the Group, the release added.

Nippon Express also provides outsourcing services for inventory management and shipping operations at NX Group’s overseas warehouses, along with optional ‘Business Insight’ shipping analyses and AI-driven shipping forecasts to support efficient inventory control and procurement planning. The service will initially focus on transporting air freight from North America, Europe, and South Asia to Japan, with expansion to additional regions planned for 2026.
