The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) celebrated its Convocation Ceremony 2025 with grandeur and pride today, conferring degrees to students from its flagship Postgraduate, Doctoral, and Executive Education programmes.
The event was marked by the presence of Dr. P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India, who attended as the Chief Guest. Delivering the Convocation Address, Dr. Mishra — a highly respected figure in Indian policymaking — urged the graduates to pursue excellence with a deep sense of responsibility and to apply their knowledge for the betterment of both industry and society.
“IIM Mumbai has always nurtured leaders who not only excel in business but also contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress. The real test of education is how it is used to serve others,” Dr. Mishra said during his address.
Shri Shashi Kiran Shetty, Chairman of IIM Mumbai and Founder & Chairman of Allcargo Group, applauded the institute’s continued efforts in grooming globally competent and socially conscious leaders.
“IIM Mumbai continues to play a pivotal role in shaping responsible, innovative, and visionary individuals. I thank our dedicated faculty and staff for their tireless efforts, and I’m confident that our graduates will continue to uphold the institute’s legacy,” said Shri Shetty.
Prof. Manoj Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai, expressed pride in the graduating class and emphasized the importance of empathetic leadership in today’s complex world.
“Our graduates are well-prepared to navigate and lead in a dynamic global landscape. Dr. Mishra’s presence and words reminded us all of the higher purpose that leadership must serve — that of nation-building and societal progress,” Prof. Tiwari noted.
The convocation also witnessed the distribution of medals and special awards to students for excellence in academics, research, entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and social impact. The celebrations were attended by prominent industry leaders, dignitaries, faculty, alumni, and families — all contributing to the joyous and inspiring atmosphere.
The event concluded with heartfelt gratitude extended to the mentors, staff, families, and alumni who have supported the students throughout their journey.
