Rolls-Royce announced plans to significantly expand its presence in India by strengthening local partnerships, enhancing talent development, and doubling its supply chain sourcing from the country by 2030. The announcement coincides with the visit of Rolls-Royce CEO Tufan Erginbilgic to India, who is accompanying UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on his first official visit following the signing of the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
“We have deep ambitions to develop India as a home for Rolls-Royce, building on our strong and successful partnership,” said Erginbilgic. “Our competitively advantaged technologies across air, land, and sea applications position us to develop in-country capabilities and strategic collaborations that will accelerate India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat.”
During his visit, Erginbilgic will also hold bilateral meetings with key partners and customers across sectors.
Highlighting the collaboration, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, “Rolls-Royce is a symbol of British excellence. Their commitment to growing in India supports our Plan for Change, driving economic growth at home, creating jobs, and deepening UK-India ties.”
Rolls-Royce emphasized that its diverse portfolio across civil aviation, defense, and energy sectors positions it to play a pivotal role in powering, protecting, and connecting India for decades. The company’s expertise aligns with India’s goals for defense self-reliance, energy independence, and digital connectivity, including the development of world-class AI infrastructure.
Further strengthening its local footprint, Rolls-Royce recently inaugurated an expanded Global Capability and Innovation Centre (GCIC) in India. The center integrates digital, engineering, and enterprise service teams supporting civil aerospace and defense operations. Poised to become Rolls-Royce’s largest global capability hub, the GCIC will advance innovation, digital transformation, and engineering expertise across the company’s civil, defense, and power systems businesses.
