GT Lines, the container shipping division of Gulftainer, has announced the launch of its new Intra-Gulf Express (IGX) service, set to commence in December 2025, strengthening maritime connectivity across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and Iraq.
The IGX service will offer a fast and reliable short-sea link connecting Oman, the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq, including calls at the Umm Qasr ICT – GT Group Terminal. Designed to support growing regional trade, the service promises businesses a more efficient way to move cargo within the Gulf.
With weekly fixed-day sailings, optimized port rotations and shorter lead times, IGX aims to provide swift turnarounds and dependable schedules for shippers. In addition to ocean transport, the service is backed by end-to-end logistics solutions such as trucking, cross-docking and bonded services, enabling smooth door-to-door cargo movement across borders.
According to the company, the introduction of IGX will significantly reduce transit times, enhance intra-GCC connectivity and offer cost-effective and sustainable shipping options for customers.
GT Lines stated that IGX is not just a new route but a strategic step towards delivering more integrated, flexible and technology-driven supply chain solutions for the region.
