V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA), Tuticorin, conducted a series of high-level engagements with major global shipping lines — Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk, and MSC — to explore opportunities for expanding hinterland cargo, improving volume performance and enhancing mainline vessel connectivity.

The meetings focused on aligning the port’s infrastructure and operational capabilities with evolving trade requirements, especially as demand for efficient international logistics continues to grow.

The strategic discussions were chaired by Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson, and attended by Shri Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Deputy Chairperson, along with senior port officials.

VOCPA’s leadership emphasized the port’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with global carriers, upgrading facilities, and positioning Tuticorin as a competitive gateway for international trade.

The collaborative dialogues mark another step toward expanding the port’s reach, improving service offerings, and supporting India’s broader maritime growth agenda.
