The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has approved a six-month extension of the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Shipping Corporation of India Land and Assets Limited (SCILAL) for Capt. Binesh Kumar Tyagi, subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
The extension will be effective from January 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026, or until further notice, whichever is earlier. The decision was communicated to the company on December 29, 2025, and disclosed in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Capt. Tyagi currently holds multiple leadership roles across key public sector maritime entities, serving as CMD of Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), Inland & Coastal Shipping Ltd (ICSL), and SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd. He has been holding the additional charge as CMD of SCILAL since September 3, 2022.
With over 35 years of experience in ship operations, port development, chartering, maritime law, and shipping management, Capt. Tyagi is widely regarded as a seasoned maritime professional. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, he is a fellow of several international professional institutions and serves on various national and global maritime committees, including those constituted by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
SCILAL also confirmed that Capt. Tyagi is not related to any director of the company and is not debarred by SEBI or any other authority from holding the office of director.
