In a significant milestone for the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP), Yangpu Port’s Xiaochantan Terminal has successfully received its first foreign trade vessel following customs closure, marking a new phase in the region’s international shipping and trade facilitation efforts.

The vessel, Xin Fang Cheng, arrived carrying cargo linked to emerging regional trade opportunities. Benefiting from pre-arrival online customs declarations and expedited verification procedures, the ship achieved “berthing upon arrival,” enabling swift completion of loading, unloading, and transshipment operations. The seamless turnaround highlighted the growing efficiency and maturity of the Hainan FTP’s foreign trade shipping system.

Within the customs supervision zone, 21 containers of synthetic resin products were cleared smoothly. The bonded goods, which achieved a value-added ratio of over 30 percent during processing, are being transported onward to Guangzhou’s Nansha Port through Hainan Jiyun’s integrated logistics network.

Officials noted that the shipment represents a concrete breakthrough in the implementation of the Hainan Free Trade Port’s duty-free policy for processed goods sold within China. By translating policy incentives into real-world trade flows, the operation underscores Hainan’s expanding role as a key logistics and processing hub connecting domestic and international markets.

The successful handling of Xin Fang Cheng is expected to encourage more foreign trade vessels to call at Yangpu Port, further strengthening Hainan’s position in regional and global supply chains.
