Deendayal Port Authority has awarded its first-ever hyperloop cargo contract to TuTr Hyperloop, marking a significant step toward adopting next-generation transport technology in India’s port and logistics sector.

The order represents TuTr Hyperloop’s maiden commercial project and will focus on deploying a hyperloop-based cargo movement solution within the port ecosystem. The initiative aims to explore faster, energy-efficient and low-emission alternatives for moving goods, particularly for time-sensitive and high-value cargo.

Port officials said the project aligns with the government’s broader push for innovation-led logistics, multimodal connectivity and reduced turnaround times at major ports. The hyperloop system is expected to complement existing road and rail infrastructure while easing congestion and improving operational efficiency.

TuTr Hyperloop said the contract validates its indigenous technology and provides a platform to demonstrate the commercial viability of hyperloop cargo movement in real-world port operations. The company plans to work closely with the port authority on design, testing and phased implementation.

The development positions Deendayal Port among the first ports globally to experiment with hyperloop cargo solutions, underlining India’s ambition to adopt advanced transport technologies to strengthen its logistics competitiveness.
