Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd reported a 12 % year‑on‑year increase in cargo handling for January 2026, processing 44.8 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo across its network of ports, according to a monthly operations update.

The growth was supported by strong performance across key cargo segments — container volumes rose 16 %, liquid cargo increased 21 %, and dry cargo grew 8 % compared with January 2025. Among the total cargo handled, 3.4 MMT was attributed to NQXT (Non‑Quantifiable eXtra Terminal) cargo.

In Adani Ports’ logistics division, rail volumes reached 59,308 TEUs, up about 3 % year‑on‑year, while GPWIS (General Purpose Wagon Investment Scheme) volumes remained steady at 1.9 MMT. On a year‑to‑date (April–January) basis, the port group has handled 412.2 MMT, marking an overall 11 % increase compared with the same period last year, driven mainly by an 18 % rise in container throughput.

The January results reflect continued demand across freight segments and underline Adani Ports’ role as a leading cargo gateway in India, bolstered by diversified handling capacity and ongoing infrastructure investments at its terminals nationwide.
