Krishnapatnam Port has successfully executed the safe sailing of an 850-tonne CQUP (Casing cum Quarter Utility Platform) Bridge from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s KG Basin offshore oil rig, marking yet another milestone in operational excellence and heavy-lift capability.

The complex operation involved the meticulous handling, positioning, and load-out of the massive over-dimensional cargo, weighing approximately 850 tonnes. Executed under stringent safety protocols and detailed engineering planning, the movement required seamless coordination between marine teams, port operations, project cargo specialists, and offshore stakeholders.

As the only port on India’s East Coast equipped with the infrastructure and technical expertise to handle such high-value, heavy-lift and over-dimensional cargo, Krishnapatnam Port once again demonstrated its precision-driven execution and adherence to global safety standards. The entire operation was completed with zero incidents, reinforcing the port’s strong safety culture and operational discipline.

The successful sailing of the CQUP Bridge underscores the port’s growing prominence as a preferred gateway for offshore energy projects, particularly in the KG Basin region. With state-of-the-art equipment, deep-draft berths, and dedicated project cargo handling facilities, Krishnapatnam Port continues to support India’s offshore oil and gas sector with reliable, efficient, and safe logistics solutions.

This achievement further strengthens the port’s reputation as a strategic hub for heavy engineering cargo and complex marine operations along the East Coast of India.
