A high-level delegation from the Netherlands visited the Directorate General of Shipping to hold discussions on the proposed Green & Digital Sea Corridor between India and the Netherlands, along with broader avenues for strengthening bilateral maritime cooperation.
The Dutch delegation included Thierry van Helden, Kelly de Jong, Harrie de Leijer, Richard van Lierre, and Kunal Vora.
During the meeting, both sides discussed key areas related to maritime decarbonisation and digitalisation, including the development of green shipping corridors, sustainable port infrastructure, alternative fuels, green bunkering ecosystems, smart maritime systems, and digital maritime trade and logistics solutions.
The deliberations also focused on the development of green hydrogen, methanol and ammonia ecosystems, Shore-to-Ship Power initiatives, capacity building, and seafarer-related human element aspects supporting the global maritime energy transition. Cooperation at international maritime platforms was also explored.
The discussions reinforced the growing maritime partnership between India and the Netherlands and highlighted the shared commitment of both countries towards building sustainable, resilient, and future-ready maritime ecosystems.
