CMA CGM Group is expanding its end-to-end logistics capabilities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) through the acquisition of 100% of FATTAL GROUP, a long-established Lebanese distribution company.

CMA CGM and the shareholders of FATTAL GROUP entered into an agreement for the acquisition in April 2026. The transaction was subject to regulatory approvals, with completion targeted for the third quarter of 2026.

The acquisition is part of CMA CGM’s strategy to strengthen its position across the wider logistics and supply-chain sector. By integrating FATTAL’s distribution platform, the group aims to expand its capabilities further downstream, bringing its logistics activities closer to end markets and consumers.

FATTAL GROUP has operated across the MENA region for nearly 130 years, building an extensive distribution network and long-standing relationships with suppliers, customers and business partners. Its regional footprint is expected to complement CMA CGM’s existing shipping and logistics operations.

For CMA CGM, the deal represents another step in its strategy to develop integrated logistics solutions covering a broader portion of the supply chain. The company has been expanding beyond traditional ocean shipping through investments in freight forwarding, contract logistics, warehousing, distribution and other supply-chain services.

The acquisition is also expected to strengthen CMA CGM’s presence in fast-growing MENA markets. The group said FATTAL’s distribution capabilities would help it deepen its regional reach and create additional value for customers and partners.

The transaction further highlights CMA CGM’s long-term commitment to Lebanon, where the group already has a significant presence. CMA CGM Chairman and CEO Rodolphe SaadĂ© said the deal reflected the company’s confidence in Lebanon and its commitment to supporting the country’s long-term development.

The FATTAL transaction forms part of CMA CGM’s broader push to build an integrated logistics network capable of managing cargo from origin through to final markets. Its completion would further strengthen the group’s downstream distribution capabilities and expand its footprint across the MENA supply chain.
