Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to expand its global footprint with the new Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, positioning the model as an important part of its international growth strategy.

The pickup, unveiled recently, is scheduled to launch in India by April 2027. In overseas markets, it will be sold as the Mahindra Lifestyler and is being evaluated for markets including South Africa, Australia, the Middle East, Latin America and the ASEAN region.

Mahindra Executive Director and CEO for Auto and Farm Sectors Rajesh Jejurikar said the Lifestyler was developed as a global platform and would play an important role in the company’s export expansion plans. The pickup is expected to help Mahindra tap markets where demand for lifestyle and utility pickups remains strong.

The company’s export performance has already been gaining momentum. Mahindra’s automotive exports reached 41,030 vehicles in FY2025-26, up 18.2% from 34,709 units a year earlier. Its SUVs are currently exported to markets including Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Africa and South America.

The Scorpio Lifestyler is based on Mahindra’s Global Pik Up programme and is designed to combine the practicality of a pickup with the features and styling of a lifestyle vehicle. The company has indicated that the model could also find demand in the Indian market as the country’s lifestyle pickup segment develops.

Mahindra’s strategy reflects a broader effort to use new products to strengthen its international presence. With the Lifestyler targeting multiple overseas regions, the company expects the pickup to become a significant contributor to its next phase of global growth.
