LATAM Cargo has integrated the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) DG AutoCheck solution directly into its core operating system, becoming the first airline in the Americas to implement the technology for dangerous goods management.
The integration enables real-time validation of dangerous goods information and automatically identifies discrepancies, allowing errors to be corrected before they cause shipment delays. The system also checks Dangerous Goods Declarations against IATA’s Dangerous Goods Regulations and provides cargo acceptance teams with an interactive inspection checklist.
Validated data can be reused to automate the preparation of the Notification to Captain (NOTOC), reducing administrative work and improving digital traceability throughout the shipment process.
Developed in collaboration with IATA and Wipro, the solution has been integrated into LATAM Cargo’s CROAMIS cargo management system. Following its successful launch at the airline’s Miami station, LATAM Cargo plans to gradually extend DG AutoCheck across its wider network.
The move forms part of LATAM Cargo’s broader digitalisation strategy to reduce manual processes, improve compliance and enhance the efficiency and reliability of dangerous goods handling.
