COSCO Shipping Ports handled 80.16 million TEUs in the first half of 2026, marking a 7.9% year-on-year increase from 74.30 million TEUs in the corresponding period last year. The company reported the figures in its interim results for the six months ended June 30.
Throughput at terminals where COSCO Shipping Ports holds controlling interests rose 2.5% to 16.89 million TEUs, while non-controlling terminals recorded stronger growth of 9.4% to 63.26 million TEUs. Equity throughput increased 7% to 24.49 million TEUs.
Chinese terminals handled 59.02 million TEUs, up 4.7% year on year and accounting for 73.6% of the group’s total throughput. Overseas terminals performed even more strongly, with throughput increasing 18% to 21.14 million TEUs.
Among overseas facilities, CSP Chancay Terminal in Peru recorded particularly strong growth, with throughput jumping 68.2% to 201,773 TEUs, supported by the development of three mainline services and five feeder services.
The higher container volumes were accompanied by improved financial performance. Revenue increased 12.3% to US$905.3 million, gross profit rose 9.3% to US$239.5 million, while profit attributable to equity holders climbed 28.5% to US$233.7 million.
