Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) is planning a Phase-II expansion of its Kochi facilities, with additional workstations and supporting infrastructure, as it seeks to strengthen ship repair operations.
CSL is also developing a second ship repair cluster at Vadinar, Gujarat, in partnership with Deendayal Port Authority. The ₹1,570-crore project, including around ₹920 crore from CSL, will feature two large floating docks and received CCEA approval in May.
CSL CMD Jose V.J. said the Kochi and Vadinar facilities will significantly enhance the company’s ship repair capacity and access to international customers. Its MoU with Drydocks World, Dubai, a DP World company, is also expected to bring international expertise and capabilities to the projects.
