Asyad Shipping has taken delivery of Ain Al Sarooj, the first of two 85,000-DWT Kamsarmax dry bulk carriers acquired by the company earlier this year. The vessel has immediately entered into a one-year time charter, strengthening Asyad Shipping’s dry bulk fleet and supporting its earnings visibility.

The second vessel, Ain Al Thawarah, is scheduled for delivery by the end of November 2026 and has already secured a two-year time charter.

Asyad Shipping signed an agreement on April 22, 2026, to acquire the two second-hand vessels for approximately RO 28 million. Both vessels were built in 2023 and have a capacity of around 85,000 deadweight tonnes each.

According to CEO Dr Ibrahim Al Nadhairi, the acquisitions will increase Asyad Shipping’s owned dry bulk fleet to 18 vessels, with a combined carrying capacity of more than 3 million DWT.

The company’s dry bulk fleet comprises a range of vessel types, including VLOC, Newcastlemax, Baby-Cape, Kamsarmax and Ultramax vessels, complemented by additional tonnage chartered from the market.

Asyad Shipping operates a diversified fleet of approximately 90 vessels across crude oil, dry bulk, gas, liner and product segments, with its services extending to more than 60 countries.
