Konecranes has secured an order to supply four automated cranes to Eurogate, supporting the terminal operator’s efforts to enhance cargo-handling efficiency and advance automation in port operations.
The equipment is expected to support container-handling activities, helping improve operational consistency and productivity at the terminal. Automated crane systems can also help terminals optimise equipment movements, improve coordination and make more effective use of available space.
The order highlights the continuing role of automation in modern container terminals as operators seek to handle cargo more efficiently, improve service reliability and respond to changing shipping and trade requirements.
The order was booked in the third quarter of 2026, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2028. The agreement also includes an option for four additional cranes at Eurogate’s Container Terminal Hamburg. The contract value has not been disclosed.
Eurogate’s approach allows equipment from different suppliers to connect through its existing equipment control system, supporting flexible integration of automated yard operations. The project also extends the long-standing business relationship between the two companies, which spans more than five decades.
