Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious New Noida industrial city project is moving forward, with land acquisition underway across 37 priority villages in the first phase, Awanish Kumar Awasthi, adviser to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, said on Sunday.
Spread across 209 sq km and covering 84 villages in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Bulandshahr districts, the proposed city is being developed as a major manufacturing and logistics hub in the National Capital Region (NCR). Officially notified as the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR), the project is being developed under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) framework.
According to Awasthi, New Noida represents a shift from the residential-focused development model of Noida and Greater Noida towards an industrial-led urban development strategy. Under Master Plan 2041, approximately 40.27% of the total area has been earmarked for manufacturing and heavy logistics.
The industrial focus is expected to attract investments in manufacturing, warehousing and supply chain infrastructure, while creating employment opportunities and expanding the NCR’s industrial capacity.
Strategic Location at Freight Corridor Junction
A major advantage of New Noida is its proximity to Dadri, where the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) connect. The freight railway networks are designed to facilitate faster and more efficient movement of goods between industrial centres, ports and major markets.
The strategic location is expected to strengthen supply chain connectivity for manufacturers and logistics operators, helping streamline the transportation of raw materials and finished products.
Multimodal Logistics Infrastructure to Boost Connectivity
New Noida is also expected to benefit from the proposed Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (MMLH) and Multi-Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) at Boraki. These facilities are planned to strengthen freight handling, transportation and regional connectivity by integrating different modes of transport.
The combination of dedicated freight corridors and multimodal infrastructure is expected to enhance the region’s attractiveness for industrial investment, particularly in manufacturing, warehousing and logistics.
With land acquisition progressing in the first-phase villages, New Noida is positioned to emerge as a significant industrial and logistics centre in the NCR, supporting Uttar Pradesh’s efforts to expand its manufacturing base and improve freight connectivity.
