Mumbai-headquartered Cordelia Cruises has launched Cordelia Sky, its largest cruise vessel, commencing commercial sailings on October 23, 2026. The launch marks the company’s transition from a single-ship to a two-ship operator, with Cordelia Sun scheduled to join the fleet in 2027.

Addressing the media, President and CEO Jurgen Bailom said the company had carried more than 800,000 passengers since commencing operations. Cordelia Cruises aims to make India one of the world’s five largest cruise markets by 2032 and plans to create 20,000 additional jobs over the next three years.

The company is also planning a 34-day cruise from Mumbai to Sydney during the 2028 monsoon season, covering seven countries and 16 ports.

Built in 1999, Cordelia Sky previously sailed as Norwegian Sky and Pride of Aloha for Norwegian Cruise Line. The 260-metre-long vessel has a gross tonnage of 77,104, spans 12 decks and features 1,002 cabins. Onboard facilities include around 10 restaurants, 11 bars and lounges, two swimming pools, five hot tubs, a spa, casino, gaming arcade and the 930-seat Marquee Theatre.

The vessel will operate domestic itineraries from Mumbai, including cruises to Goa and Lakshadweep. In 2027, it is also expected to offer seven-night Southeast Asian cruises between Chennai and Singapore, with destinations including Malaysia and Thailand.

Meanwhile, Cordelia Empress will operate from Kochi, its new homeport, further expanding the company’s cruise operations in India.
