Mumbai-based Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL) reported a 54.1 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decline in consolidated net profit attributable to owners to ₹344.12 crore in the second quarter of FY27, compared with ₹749.48 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
Revenue from operations fell 16.5 per cent to ₹2,446.09 crore in Q2 FY27, down from ₹2,929.24 crore in Q2 FY26. Total income also declined 16.6 per cent to ₹2,697.06 crore from ₹3,235.67 crore a year earlier.
The company’s basic earnings per share (EPS) dropped 54.1 per cent to ₹8.53 during the quarter, compared with ₹18.58 in the corresponding period last year.
The decline in profitability was significantly steeper than the fall in revenue, indicating increased pressure on the company’s earnings during the quarter.
Separately, MDL’s board of directors declared an interim dividend of ₹5 per equity share for FY27. The dividend is equivalent to 100 per cent of the share’s face value of ₹5.
