Stanford Marine’s DP2 Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) Stanford Hawk has commenced a long-term contract in India, marking a significant milestone for the company and its first direct contract with an end client in the country.

Although the company has supported several offshore projects in India over the years, the latest contract represents an important step in expanding its presence in the Indian offshore market and building new client relationships.

The mobilisation of Stanford Hawk to India presented operational challenges amid the security situation in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the company, the safety of the vessel and its crew remained the top priority throughout the transit.

Through detailed planning, risk assessments and close coordination among its operations team, security consultants, security contractors, insurance providers and relevant authorities, the vessel safely transited the Strait of Hormuz and was delivered to the client on schedule.

The successful mobilisation highlights the coordinated efforts of the vessel’s crew and shore-based teams in managing operational risks under challenging circumstances.

The contract also reflects Stanford Marine’s broader strategy to diversify its geographical footprint. While the Middle East remains its core market, the company is progressively expanding into other regions to establish new client relationships and build a more geographically balanced business. Several recent fixtures outside the Middle East indicate progress in this direction.

Stanford Marine acknowledged the professionalism and commitment of the Master and crew of Stanford Hawk, along with the contributions of its operations team, security partners, insurance providers and other stakeholders involved in the mobilisation.

The company also thanked its client for the confidence placed in Stanford Marine and expressed its commitment to delivering safe and reliable services in support of the client’s offshore operations.

The commencement of the contract marks a new chapter for Stanford Marine in India, providing a platform for further engagement in the country’s offshore energy and marine services sector.
