Gateway Distriparks Limited has achieved a milestone in sustainable logistics with the successful departure of its first export reefer train from the Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Viramgam to Mundra Port, carrying temperature-sensitive cargo for Simplot.

The movement marks a significant step towards expanding rail-based logistics solutions for refrigerated export cargo, providing a reliable, efficient and more sustainable alternative to conventional transportation.

The initiative highlights the growing role of rail connectivity in supporting temperature-controlled supply chains and improving the movement of export cargo between inland logistics hubs and seaports. By facilitating the movement of reefer containers by rail, the service offers an alternative for transporting temperature-sensitive goods while supporting more efficient multimodal logistics operations.

Gateway Distriparks acknowledged the support and collaboration of Simplot, Wan Hai Lines, Evergreen Marine, Ocean Network Express (ONE) and Expeditors, whose partnership contributed to the successful execution of the movement.

The company reiterated its commitment to developing innovative, customer-focused and sustainable logistics solutions that enhance operational efficiency and deliver value to customers and supply chain partners.

The successful departure of the first export reefer train from ICD Viramgam reinforces the importance of integrated rail-port connectivity in strengthening India’s export logistics network, particularly for temperature-sensitive commodities that require dependable transportation and coordinated handling throughout the supply chain.
