AD Ports Group has appointed Dr. Afif Saif Al Yafei as its new Group Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, who has led the Abu Dhabi-based ports and logistics group since 2014.
Al Yafei joins AD Ports Group from TAQA Transmission, where he served as Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than 20 years of executive experience across infrastructure, utilities and industrial sectors.
During his tenure at TAQA Transmission, he oversaw the expansion of the company’s asset portfolio and capital investment programme. Previously, he held senior leadership positions at Tabreed and ADNOC Gas, gaining experience in corporate strategy, investment, governance and digital transformation.
Commenting on the appointment, AD Ports Group Chairman Shadi Malak said Al Yafei’s extensive experience in managing major infrastructure businesses would support the group’s next phase of development. His expertise in investment, organisational development and operational management is expected to strengthen the group’s international presence and strategic ambitions.
Outgoing CEO Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi steps down after approximately 12 years at the helm. Under his leadership, AD Ports Group transformed from a local port operator into an international ports, shipping, logistics and industrial infrastructure business.
AD Ports Group currently operates 40 terminals and has a presence in more than 50 countries across five continents.
With the leadership transition, the group is expected to continue advancing its integrated trade and logistics strategy, strengthening its global operations and expanding its international footprint.
